Associate Attorney (Personal Injury)

About the Role

This position focuses on civil litigation , with opportunities to work on a variety of cases. Experience in medical malpractice and long-term care defense is a required. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, curious, and possesses excellent communication and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Oregon and Washington (preferred)
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Oregon Bar membership; Washington licensure preferred or willingness to obtain
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience
• Experience or exposure to matters involving medical records, injury claims, or complex factual issues is a strong plus
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a busy litigation practice
• ( Experience from plaintiff‑side personal injury, medical‑related litigation, judicial clerkships, DA or PD offices is welcomed and transferable.)

What You’ll Do: As an Associate Attorney, you’ll manage diverse litigation matters across Oregon and Washington. You’ll work on cases that may include medical malpractice, long term care defense, and other civil litigation , while collaborating with experienced partners and building strong client relationships. This role offers autonomy, mentorship, and the chance to develop deep expertise in complex litigation.

Responsibilities Include

• Managing litigation cases from initial filing through resolution
• Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery with precision and clarity
• Conducting legal research and preparing detailed case analyses
• Communicating proactively with partners, clients, and opposing counsel
• Attending hearings, depositions, and mediations and other proceedings
• Collaborating on strategy and trial preparation with senior attorneys
• Provide high level support to partners on complex cases, taking ownership of key tasks and ensuring deadlines are met
• Other duties as assigned

Key Details

• Schedule: Full‑time, Monday - Friday, 8a - 5p
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in office weekly, including Wednesdays )
