Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Experience operating and programming CNC waterjet equipment required.
• CNC laser or plasma cutting experience may be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools.
• Strong math, measurement, and problem-solving skills.
• Manufacturing, fabrication, or skilled trades experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards.

Job Duties

• Operate and program CNC waterjet cutting equipment to produce metal and plastic components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production.
• Set up, load, unload, and move materials using appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Monitor cutting operations and verify quality throughout the production process.
• Conduct inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of waterjet equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Safely operate shop equipment including waterjets, press brakes, saws, forklifts, and overhead cranes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
• Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
• Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Waterjet Operator.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
