CHAS Health's comprehensive compensation package* includes:Annual milestone bonus for all eligible employees! $500 for every year worked, up to $5,000.Robust health coverage with employer-offered medical, dental, vision, long-term care, and life insurance.401(k) with up to 6% employer match for a retirement plan that invests in your future.Work/life balance —enjoy more than six (6) weeks of paid time off (PTO) annually for full-time employees, to recharge and refresh.Tuition assistance and student loan repayment —let CHAS Health pay for your education!Up to $7,500 for childcare annually through reimbursement, to help you balance work and family life.CME and license fee reimbursement —we've got you covered.* Offered benefits dependent upon employee eligibility and criteriaJob Description:This hybrid position includes scheduled in-office days to support team collaboration; requirements may change based on evolving business needs.Purpose of Job:Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by efficiently and accurately coding and processing claims.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reviews health documentation and records to extract and ensure appropriate codes, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10/HCC, are captured in the electronic health records system.Codes and completes charge entry into electronic practice management systems.Researches and resolves coding related payer denials.Serves as a documentation and coding subject matter expert to support CHAS Health teams and providers.Communicates with co-workers, providers, and third-party representatives in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.Ability to consistently adhere to established productivity standards required.Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.Qualifications:Education/Experience : Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CPC-A credential combined with three years of front and/or back office experience in lieu of CPC credential required.Skills : Excellent communications skills required. Computer skills required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.Physical Demands:Must talk, hear, and sit more than two-thirds of the day. Using hands occurs over two-thirds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than one-third of the day. Communicating is also required over two-thirds of the day, while climbing, stooping, or crawling is minimal.
