Plant Controller

LaSalle Network is partnering with a food manufacturing company who is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to support the financial operations of their manufacturing facility in Buffalo Grove, IL. This role will partner closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to oversee plant accounting, cost accounting, inventory controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have prior plant controller experience within a food manufacturing environment and possess strong analytical and operational finance skills.


Plant Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee all plant accounting and financial reporting activities for the manufacturing facility
  
  
• Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  
  
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, overhead, and production variances to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  
  
• Partner with operations leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
  
  
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, inventory controls, and compliance with company policies
  
  
• Monitor plant KPIs and provide financial analysis related to production efficiency, scrap, labor utilization, and operational performance
  
  
• Support annual audits and prepare PBC schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors
  
  
• Manage fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation schedules for the facility
  
  
• Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, operations, and corporate accounting teams
  
  
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies within the plant finance function

Plant Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  
  
• Minimum of 2 years of Plant Controller experience required
  
  
• Prior food manufacturing experience required
  
  
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables & Vlookups

Plant Controller Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary of $135,000-155,000 and eligible for a 10% annual bonus
