This Certified Medical Assistant position combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a specialty outpatient clinic setting. The role focuses on supporting physicians and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and seamless coordination of patient care. You will work closely with providers and patients, using Epic EMR to manage clinical tasks, appointment scheduling, and follow-up workflows while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

• Room and prepare patients for provider visits, ensuring a smooth and efficient start to each appointment.
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient information accurately in the Epic EMR system.
• Assist with patient discharge processes, including instructions and follow-up coordination.
• Coordinate and facilitate laboratory and imaging orders, ensuring timely completion and documentation.
• Support physicians and clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic day.
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation within Epic EMR.
• Manage Epic in-basket messages and provider queues, including appointment scheduling, lab follow-ups, and reschedules.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits in alignment with provider recommendations.
• Process appointment-related communications, ensuring patients receive clear and timely information.
• Assist with patient care coordination and workflow management to promote continuity of care.
• Collaborate closely with providers and clinic staff to ensure timely follow-up and high-quality patient experiences.
• Contribute to outpatient clinic operations by balancing clinical and administrative duties effectively.

• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 6 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred, with strong exposure to outpatient clinic operations.
• Advanced Epic EMR knowledge, including experience with Epic In-Basket management.
• Proficiency in scheduling and appointment coordination within Epic.
• Experience managing patient follow-up workflows using Epic.
• Strong understanding of outpatient clinic operations and processes.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple clinical and administrative tasks efficiently.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Experience handling Epic in-basket messages and provider queues, including appointment scheduling, lab follow-ups, and reschedules.
• Demonstrated ability to support specialty outpatient care and patients with complex healthcare needs.
• Interest in gaining advanced Epic experience in an academic medical environment.

This role is based in a specialty outpatient clinic with a small, close-knit atmosphere supported by the resources of a large academic medical environment. The schedule is a stable weekday shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no weekend work. You will work alongside four physicians and a collaborative clinic team, using Epic EMR as the primary clinical and administrative system. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
