Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Oncology Clinic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid state or compact license required Certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate) Must-Have: Travel experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Charting experience in Epic required Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in oncology. The nurse will administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The unit handles all cancer diagnoses and hematology, both malignant and non-malignant. Daily patient census averages around 60 patients. The nurse will maintain a patient ratio of 8 patients per nurse. Responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and monitoring for side effects. The nurse will provide patient and family education and support. Skills in phlebotomy, PICC line care, and managing side effects of treatments are essential. The nurse will work with an interdisciplinary team including social services and pharmacy. Experience with acute tumor lysis syndrome and anaphylaxis is beneficial. Knowledge of handling body fluids post-chemotherapy and managing cytotoxic spills is required. The role supports a patient-oriented environment for adults requiring oncology care.
