The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist CDIS will report to a Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity with partnership across Coding/HIM, Case Management, Quality, and Physician Advisors; robust support includes experienced CDI educators, physician champions, and system analysts to streamline concurrent reviews, physician queries, and DRG/HCC optimization, while the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist CDIS collaborates daily with friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team spanning hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons, and allied clinicians to clarify SOI/ROM, CC/MCC capture, PSI/HAC mitigation, and risk-adjusted outcomes across complex inpatient populations.
