Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk - Dealership Experience Preferred

Job Summary: Our Schicker CDJR of Washington location is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and team-focused Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk to join our dealership's business office. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing vendor payments, and managing incoming receivables. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a basic understanding of accounting principles, and a positive, professional attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and post accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed

• Prepare and issue payments via check, ACH, or credit card

• Track and apply incoming payments to customer accounts and reconcile any variances

• Assist with daily deposits and cash handling

• Maintain accurate and organized records for both payables and receivables

• Communicate with internal departments and external vendors regarding payment statuses and billing questions

• Assist with month-end closing processes and reporting as needed

• Utilize Dealertrack accounting software (experience preferred but not required)

• Provide general administrative support to the accounting department

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Prior experience in accounts payable/receivable or general accounting support

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently

• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Automotive dealership experience is a plus
