Finance and Accounting Analyst 2 [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance and Accounting Analyst 2 based in the United States.

This role sits within a dynamic finance hub that supports enterprise-wide decision-making through high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting. You will play a key part in helping leadership and operational teams understand financial performance across budgets, actuals, and forecasts, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial planning. The position combines analytical depth with cross-functional collaboration, requiring you to partner closely with budget managers and stakeholders across multiple departments. You will contribute to variance analysis, financial modeling, and reporting tools that guide both operational and strategic decisions. This is a highly impactful role where attention to detail, data integrity, and clear communication are essential. Working in a complex, mission-driven environment, you will also help improve financial processes and support continuous optimization of resource allocation.

Accountabilities:

• Conduct monthly, annual, and ad hoc financial analysis of operating accounts, including budget variance tracking and performance reporting.
• Support departments with budgeting, forecasting, and financial interpretation, ensuring consistency and accuracy across financial data sets.
• Perform detailed variance analysis to explain financial trends and provide actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.
• Extract, analyze, and interpret financial data from multiple systems to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and data extracts while ensuring accuracy and integrity across systems.
• Support procurement and financial transaction processes, including requisitions, purchase orders, invoice review, and P-card monitoring.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to investigate financial issues, improve processes, and support new initiative planning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or related finance functions.
• Strong proficiency in financial tools and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and organizational levels.
• Experience with financial systems or tools such as Oracle, Cognos TM1, Smartsheet, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools or coding (e.g., SQL, VBA, macros) is a plus.
