Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Dry Fork, VA

Take your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to a dynamic school-based environment supporting students across grades K-12. This full-time contract opportunity is based in the area near Dry Fork, VA, conveniently located just outside Danville and right by the North Carolina border, with easy access to Roanoke, only 1.5 hours to the north.


As an integral part of the educational team, you will provide essential support to students, working closely with two experienced virtual Occupational Therapists. Your contributions will make a tangible difference in students' development and school success, all while collaborating in a supportive and innovative setting.


Qualifications and Experience:

• Current license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
• Comfort working across the K-12 spectrum, adapting approaches for varying age groups
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with virtual and on-site professionals
• Effective organizational skills to manage a full caseload in a dynamic environment

• Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students, implementing treatment plans from supervising OTs
• Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and functional life skills for classroom success
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize each student's progress
• Maintain thorough documentation of sessions and student progress
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)

• Full-time hours: 37.5 per week
• Contract runs ASAP through the end of the current school year
• Engage with a diverse K-12 caseload in a welcoming school environment
