Airport Operations Specialist

Overview Job Title: Airport Operations Specialist Department: Engineering | University Airport Performs facility maintenance activities at the University Airport as required for an FAA certificated airport; conducts airfield inspections and maintenance; conducts building inspections and maintenance; conducts airport grounds inspections and maintenance; assists with vehicle inspections and maintenance; assists with security and public safety functions; operates various construction equipment and vehicles; operates snow removal equipment pertaining to runways, taxiways, and airport grounds; assists with special events at the airport. Additional Information: This position is on emergency call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Responsibilities Perform facility maintenance at the University Airport as required for an FAA certificated airport Conduct airfield inspections and maintenance Conduct building inspections and maintenance Conduct airport grounds inspections and maintenance Assist with vehicle inspections and maintenance Assist with security and public safety functions Operate various construction equipment and vehicles Operate snow removal equipment pertaining to runways, taxiways, and airport grounds Assist with special events at the airport Qualifications Minimum Education Requirement: HS Graduate or Equivalent or equivalent educ/exp Experience: Required — Current valid driver's license; must be able to pass FAA required airport driver's test within 60 days of employment Desired — Commercial Driver's License (CDL); AAAE Basic ASOS; familiarity with Federal Air Regulation Parts 36, 77, 14 CFR Part 139, and 150 series Advisory Circulars; working knowledge of general trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc) The target hiring range for this job profile is $18.37 - $23.99. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc. Location: Airport Maintenance (0237) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
