Dental AssistantActalent is hiring for a Dental Assistant!!This Dental Assistant role offers the opportunity to support a growing dental practice by providing high-quality chairside assistance and comprehensive treatment support. You will work closely with dental providers across a variety of procedures, including surgical treatments, while receiving ongoing training and development. The position is ideal for someone with at least six months of dental experience who is passionate about dentistry, eager to learn, and committed to delivering excellent patient care.ResponsibilitiesProvide chairside assistance during general dental procedures, ensuring providers have the instruments and materials needed for efficient treatment.Support surgical procedures twice a week by preparing treatment rooms, assisting during surgery, and helping manage instruments and supplies.Conduct post-surgery follow-ups with patients on non-surgical days, reinforcing treatment plans and helping monitor recovery.Use and understand dental terminology to communicate effectively with providers and team members and to document procedures accurately.Assist with digital impressions when needed, helping capture accurate data for restorative and other dental treatments.Prepare, organize, and maintain treatment rooms and equipment before and after each appointment to support a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment.Demonstrate humility and openness to learning by actively participating in training, seeking feedback, and applying new techniques and protocols.Contribute to a positive patient experience by maintaining a professional, friendly demeanor and showing passion for dentistry in everyday interactions.Arrive reliably and on time for scheduled shifts, supporting consistent patient flow and teamwork throughout the day.Essential SkillsAt least 6 months of dental experience in a general dental assistant capacity.Familiarity with dental terminology and the ability to use it in a clinical setting.General dental assisting skills, including supporting providers during a variety of procedures.Humility and openness to learning new techniques, technologies, and practice protocols.Reliability and strong work ethic to maintain consistent attendance and performance.Positive attitude and passion for dentistry, with a focus on patient care and team collaboration.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with digital impressions is preferred and considered a strong asset.Radiographic licensing is a plus but not required in New York for this role.Standard CPR/BCLS certification is a plus and beneficial for assisting with surgical procedures.Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development within a growing practice.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a growing dental practice that offers a supportive and training-focused environment with long-term potential for professional growth. The typical schedule runs from approximately 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with half-day Fridays, providing a structured daytime workweek. You will work in a clinical setting equipped for general dentistry and surgical procedures, including digital impression technology.
