Emergency Department Technician

Emergency Department And Observation Unit TechThis position will be either night shift or mid shift.The Emergency Department and Observation Unit Tech, under the supervision of a nurse, performs routine personal care duties for patients including (but not limited to) starting IVs, drawing blood, inserting Foley catheters, and doing EKGs. Maintains a safe environment and reports any problems.Education High school diploma or equivalent is required.Experience Previous experience in a related job field involving direct patient care (e.g. hospital nursing assistant; pre-hospital emergency care; hospital technician such as phlebotomist or RT tech) or recent completion of one year of nursing school including clinical rotations, is required.Certification & Licensures BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved is required.
