Robotics Technician – Robotic Welding / Automation

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Schedule: Onsite, 5 days per week

Pay: Depending on Experience

We are looking for a hands-on Robotics Technician to support a growing robotic welding and automation operation in Milwaukee.

This position will work directly on the manufacturing floor with robotic welding cells, collaborative robots (cobots), automated welding equipment, fixtures, and production teams . You will help keep the robotic cells running safely and efficiently while troubleshooting problems, supporting weld quality, and helping improve production.

We are keeping the search somewhat open. You do not necessarily need to have held the title of Robotics Technician. If you are a strong welder or fabricator who has experience working with robotic welding or automated equipment and would like to continue growing your robotics and automation skills, we would like to talk with you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operate robotic welding cells, cobots, and automated welding equipment
• Set up jobs, perform changeovers, and make basic welding and program adjustments
• Load, unload, and position components in robotic welding fixtures
• Monitor robotic welding operations and weld quality
• Troubleshoot weld quality issues, wire feed problems, torch issues, sensors, equipment alarms, and other problems
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on robotic welding equipment and tooling
• Assist with fixture setup, troubleshooting, and improvements
• Inspect welds and finished components for quality
• Read blueprints, weld symbols, and manufacturing drawings
• Work with welding, engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve robotic cell performance and throughput
• Help train production employees on safe operation of robotic welding equipment
• Assist with installation and startup of new robotic welding and automation equipment
• Follow proper safety and lockout/tagout procedures

What We're Looking For

We are interested in talking with candidates who have experience in robotic welding, MIG welding, fabrication, automation, or industrial manufacturing.

Ideally, you will have:

• 2+ years of welding, fabrication, robotic welding, automation, or related manufacturing experience
• Good understanding of MIG welding and welding fundamentals
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with robotic welding cells, cobots, or automated manufacturing equipment is highly preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently and work well with production, engineering, and maintenance teams

Experience with FANUC, Miller, Fronius, Lincoln Electric, Universal Robots, or similar robotic systems is a plus, but not required.

Technical schooling, welding certifications, or manufacturing-related education is also a plus.
