Project Buyer - Farmington Hills, MII

As the N.A. Project Buyer you will be part of the N.A. Purchasing Team for compressors, motors, and pumps. You will interface regularly with the Program Management Team and Engineering Team, support the preparation of material costs and vendor tooling estimates for Acquisitions, track performance to cost estimates and project timelines, manage the procurement process from initial RFQ to production, and negotiate supply agreements with selected suppliers. Interface with Product Engineering to understand electronics and mechanical Bill of Materials and requirements. Send RFQs to suppliers on the bid list, analyze the results, and complete the sourcing process for each new part. Negotiate and execute Supply Agreements for each newly sourced part. Track performance to business case numbers and sourcing timing once the business is awarded. Managing the procurement process from initial RFQ to start of production. Support the Team Lead periodically by providing material cost estimates for components as part of the acquisition process. Experience & Qualifications Bilingual (English/Japanese) is a must. Hands on experience using Excel is a must. 2+ years of experience within negotiation and project management is a must. Detailed knowledge of markets of the electronic commodity is preferred. Understanding and use of cost drivers and market dynamics in the electronic commodity is a must. Can communicate effectively on technical topics and can understand technical drawings is a must. Tier 1 Automotive industry experience preferable but not required.
