About the Position

Job Title: RN - OR/SURGERY Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Tuesday to Friday Hours per Shift: 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: General surgery, orthopedic, and neurosurgery experience. Basic general OR knowledge of more than one year. If candidate is for Cardiovascular Operating Room, they must have at least two years of experience, including all adult open heart cases, open and endovascular cases. Willing to work with the Cath lab on cases such as transaortic valve replacement (TAVR). Description: This is a contract position for an RN in the Operating Room. The position is for 13 weeks, working Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The unit has 11 operating rooms and a staff of 40 across all shifts. Patient ratios are 1:1. Candidates should be flexible and able to work in different types of rooms with various cases. The position may require assistance in mentoring new graduate techs or RNs. Typical procedures performed in this role include X-lif, A-lif, decompression, ACDF, craniotomy, and robotic surgery (thoracic, general, gynecological, and urology). Candidates with trauma and vascular surgery experience will be prioritized. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to adapt to the department’s practices and be willing to help with extra hours if needed. Scrubs are provided and should be light blue in color.
