Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced In-House Engineer to own internal product drawings, engineering documentation, and file structure management. This role supports product development and assembly by creating accurate drawings, maintaining organized engineering data, troubleshooting product issues, and partnering with production, purchasing, and quality to improve manufacturability, efficiency, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

·       Create, revise, and maintain accurate product, assembly, and detail drawings.

·       Establish and maintain organized engineering file structures, drawing references, and revision control.

·       Ensure drawings and documentation align with current designs, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.

·       Support product development, prototypes, and engineering changes from concept through release.

·       Troubleshoot product and assembly issues, identify root causes, and implement practical design or process improvements.

·       Work closely with production to improve assembly efficiency, manufacturability, and serviceability.

·       Partner with purchasing to source raw materials and components that meet design, quality, lead-time, and cost requirements.

·       Support vendor qualification and evaluate suppliers, materials, and parts for engineering and production fit.

·       Drive cost reduction through design improvements, material selection, supplier collaboration, and sourcing alternatives.

·       Identify and approve alternate parts or second-source options to reduce supply risk and support continuity.

·       Review bills of materials with purchasing to ensure accuracy, approved sourcing, availability, and cost competitiveness.

·       Provide day-to-day technical support for production and maintain controlled release of engineering documentation.

·       Review engineering documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.

·       Significant experience creating and maintaining engineering drawings and technical documentation in a manufacturing or product development environment.

·       Strong SolidWorks experience, including drawing creation, file references, and drawing management.

·       Proven ability to set up, organize, and maintain structured engineering file systems and revision control.

·       Strong understanding of product assembly, manufacturing processes, and design-for-assembly principles.

·       Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot drawings, specifications, and assembly requirements.

·       Strong organizational, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Skills

·       Experience supporting internal manufacturing or assembly operations.

·       Knowledge of engineering change processes, revision control, and SolidWorks file management or PDM practices.

·       Experience with prototype development, testing, and design validation.

·       Ability to balance detailed drawing work with practical production support.

·       Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
