Infectious Disease Physician

Broward Health, one of the nations largest public safety-net healthcare systems is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Infectious Disease Physician to join our team in a hybrid clinical role that integrates both hospital-based care and outpatient services . This full-time position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in both acute care management and primary care in one of our ambulatory clinics. The physician will also provide inpatient call coverage at our flagship hospital, Broward Health Medical Center , in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert consultative services for hospitalized patients across multiple units. Evaluate complex infectious disease cases, initiate appropriate treatment plans and support antimicrobial stewardship efforts, contribute to hospital-wide infection control practices. Collaborate closely with hospitalist, intensivists, surgeons and other specialists to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. Provide primary care and infectious disease follow-up in one of our ambulatory clinics. Manage chronic infectious conditions, supporting preventative care, and promoting long-term wellness - particularly for patients with limited access to care. Stay updated on the latest advancements in infectious disease protocols and incorporate evidence-based practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic healthcare record (EHR) systems. Participate in shared inpatient call coverage. Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree Completion of an ACGME-accredited Infectious Disease fellowship Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Infectious Disease Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Florida or eligibility to obtain licensure Experience working with HIV-positive patients a plus but not required Broward Health offers full-time employment with competitive salaries, relocation allowance, malpractice coverage through sovereign immunity, health, dental and vision coverage, retirement options, pension, and eligibility for a portion of student loan forgiveness.
