About the Resident A local Sturgeon Bay resident who is paralyzed and requires full‑time assistance to live comfortably and maintain independence at home seeks a full‑time caregiver. The candidate should be kind, patient, reliable, and supportive of the resident’s caregiving team. Responsibilities Personal Care: Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Mobility: Help with transfers (bed to wheelchair, etc.) and ensure safe movement around the house, including use of a ceiling lift transfer if needed. Medication: Assist with medication distribution. Meal Preparation: Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals; provide feeding assistance when necessary. Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and run errands. Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in social activities. Dog Care: Allow the resident’s dog to go in and out for bathroom breaks and sometimes walk the dog daily. Qualifications Prior caregiver experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
