Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:30 - 08:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVICU/open heart experience License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Prefer experience with Epic charting system - Travel experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts each week. The focus will be on patients diagnosed with cardiac and vascular conditions. Patient diagnoses include cardiac surgery, CABG, valve procedures, CAD-STEMI, NSTEMI, AFIB with RVR, and cardiogenic shock. The role involves caring for patients post-cardiac surgery and requires skills in ventilator management and titration of cardiac drips. Floating within the specialty and to sister units is required. This role will include direct patient care and the management of complex cardiovascular cases. Indicators for care will involve monitoring for complications and providing emergency interventions as necessary. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Weekend and holiday shifts are required based on scheduling needs. Candidates must be comfortable with patient ratios of 2:1. The unit has eight total beds, with a daily census averaging six patients. Continued education and compliance with facility policies are essential for success in this role.
