Middle Grades Math Instructor, Florida Certified

Plan, prepare, and implement instructional activities that create meaningful learning experiences Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources for students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs Assess changing curricular needs and offer improvement plans Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures Create a positive environment encouraging active student engagement Communicate with students, parents, and internal and external professionals within established timelines Collaborate with peers through team teaching, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and committees Model professional and ethical standards Ensure continuous and appropriate student growth and achievement Establish cooperative working relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues Meet course and school-wide student performance goals and demonstrate gains in student performance Participate in research and presentations about online teaching, including authoring articles, hosting workshops, professional growth activities, and student outreach events Participate in blended learning models involving online and classroom instruction across schools and districts Report to an assigned school when required Provide instructional tutoring when responsible Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, deadlines, schedules, and resource coordination Perform other job-related duties as required Requirements Must be a Florida resident Bachelor’s Degree Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in the assigned content area, or proof of active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program plus a valid Florida Statement of Eligibility or valid Temporary Certificate in the assigned content area Endorsements as required by the Florida Department of Education Three years’ teaching experience preferred Operational knowledge of the Internet and web-related technologies Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with little direct supervision Ability to collaborate on group projects and work as part of a team Responsible, accountable, and self-motivated Strong work ethic to achieve school goals Effective prioritizing, organizing, and time-management skills; ability to meet aggressive deadlines Ability to learn and apply required and recommended FLVS computer applications Ability to support FLVS core competencies, values, and expectations for student-centered behaviors Occasional travel may be required to schools, labs, meetings, trainings, and conferences, potentially involving overnight stays Ability to perform light physical activities in an office environment, with reasonable accommodations as applicable Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in instructional planning and implementation, with a focus on creating engaging learning experiences for diverse student populations.
