Purchasing Specialist

SPEC Building Materials Corporation is recognized as one of the nation’s leading wholesale distributors of the highest quality building materials, equipment, and products for both commercial and residential roofing contractors. Since 1973, SPEC has strategically grown to thirty-nine convenient branch locations in markets throughout the Midwest, the South, and the Southeastern regions.

The MATERIAL PURCHASING AGENT will be responsible for managing branch inventories and ordering.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and assist in purchasing
• Vendor pricing and sell price maintenance.
• Perform Branch inventories.
• Process daily cycle counts.
• Setting up new products.
• Month-end Reporting.
• Some Travel Required
• Negotiate and oversee Corporate and local buys.

Required Skills

• Purchasing Experience
• Building Material experience preferred.
• Managing different responsibilities with routine interruptions.
• MS Excel & Word Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Dependable and On-Time
