Payroll Specialist (Part-Time Contract) Job Title: Payroll Specialist (Part-Time Contract) Location: Chicago, IL Pay: $24-26/hour, based on experience Schedule: Hybrid (1 day onsite), 27 30 hours a week Employment Type: Temporary until the end of the year Our client is seeking an experienced part-time Payroll Specialist to support biweekly payroll processing and employee payroll administration. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong UKG experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Process biweekly payroll for approximately 300 employees across multiple pay groups. Manage off-cycle payroll processing as needed. Review and validate timecards, earnings, deductions, and payroll adjustments. Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and employee changes. Audit payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile payroll results and verify final payroll output. Generate payroll reports for internal stakeholders. Respond to employee payroll and timekeeping inquiries. Ensure compliance with payroll controls, policies, and confidentiality requirements. Partner with HR and payroll teams to maintain data integrity between HRIS and payroll systems. Required Qualifications 3+ years of payroll processing experience. Minimum 3 to 5 years of UKG Pro Payroll experience. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
