Description:

Unit: Operating Room with 12 general suites, 1 CVOR suite, and 1 hybrid room. Average of 14 cases per day performed. All surgical techs must be BLS and NBSTSA certified. Staff-to-patient ratios are 1:1. Utilizes Cerner Surginet for electronic medical records. Charge nurse is present for support. Weekend call is required every 4th weekend for techs on the 7a-3pm and 3pm-11pm shifts. Other shifts may have variable weekend call requirements. Weekday call is self-scheduled and required 4-8 times per 4-week schedule. Call hours for techs begin at the end of the scheduled shift. Call response time must be within 30 minutes. 1 major and 1 minor holiday required during the summer and winter months. Scrubs are provided. Staffing includes a Registered Nurse and an experienced surgical tech for the 11p-7a shift. Floating is not required for surgical techs or nurses. Orientation involves 2-3 shifts on the unit. Common surgical cases include orthopedic, gynecological, urological, trauma, ENT, general, vascular, neuro, and robotic surgeries. No requirement for travel nurses to perform CVOR procedures unless specified. Scrubbing is required for surgical techs. All techs must be certified in sterile processing if applicable. Must have experience with various sterilization techniques. Shifts available are 8 hours: 7a-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. The facility maintains a Trauma Level 2 care setting.
