To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as an Aircraft Avionics Technician in our Maintenance Department. The primary responsibility of the position is performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft avionics systems and components. The successful candidate will have a Valid Airframe and Powerplant certificate coupled with either an associates degree specializing in electronics and avionics systems or two years of experience working with aircraft electronics and avionics systems. The Avionics Technician reports to the Avionics Supervisor.Essential Duties:Complete routine and non-routine maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and replace aircraft communication, navigational and electrical equipmentComplete functional testing and inspections of the avionics on our fleetJob Qualifications and Competencies:Associates degree specializing in electronics and avionics systems or a minimum of two years of experience working with aircraft electronics and avionics systemsValid Airframe and Powerplant certificateExcellent verbal and written communication skillsValid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:Experience in mechanical operationsFederal Communications Commission (FCC) Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator CertificateWork Environment:Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipmentAirport ramp and warehouse environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levelsAvailable to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Requirements:Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, climbing up and down stairsHandle objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally with assistance from co-workers or toolsThe above statements provide a brief description of the general nature of work performed and are not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required for this position.
