Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Intake Department

Responsibilities Quail Run Hospital is a 115-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Phoenix, Arizona. Quail Run features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Quail Run Behavioral Health. Website: Job Description Behavioral Heath Technician (Intake) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. BHT’S work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Job Duties/Responsibilities Accurately check in patients upon arrival and promptly enter required demographic and clinical information into the electronic medical record to initiate and support the admission process in a timely and efficient manner. Take and record vital signs promptly and ensure patient safety through continuous supervision of patient. Monitor each patient’s location per the Observation Policy and Procedure and utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and documents any changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals. Qualifications Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in the field of behavioral health preferred. 1 year of experience working in psychiatricsetting required. Handle With Care and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Providers required. Training provided at the facility. Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire.
