- State Filing and Insurance Regulatory Processes
- Personal Lines Insurance Experience
- Business Problem Translation into Technical Requirements
- Risk and Compliance Management
Preferred Experience:
- State Filing Experience with Department of Insurance (DOI)
- Personal Lines Insurance
- Developing and Revising Insurance Rates
- Preparing Documentation for DOI
- Responding to DOI Objections
- Lead Actuary Review and Sign-Off Coordination
- Data Visualization and Reporting
- Experience with Industry Data and Actuarial Methods
- Independent handling of complex and unstructured actuarial projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete state filing processes for assigned states
- Develop and revise insurance rates and perform trend analysis
- Prepare actuarial documentation and coordinate Lead Actuary sign-off
- Respond to Department of Insurance objections and requests
- Select, validate, and ensure the quality of data used for rate level indications
- Apply complex actuarial methodologies to unstructured projects
- Develop and execute actuarial models and interpret results
- Translate business problems into technical requirements
- Use Python, SQL, and other analytical tools for actuarial analysis
- Communicate actuarial findings and recommendations to business stakeholders
- Apply mathematical and statistical techniques to enhance actuarial work products
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control business risks in accordance with compliance policies
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science preferred
- Equivalent actuarial experience may substitute for the degree
