Call for Applications - Play for the Lead Project The call is open to sport clubs, sport-for-good, and social organizations using sport or physical activity as a core tool, willing to strengthen youth participation practices and empower young women with migrant or refugee backgrounds, asylum seekers, and individuals from ethnically marginalized communities to co-design and implement inclusive sport initiatives in France, Germany, and Spain. The Adidas Foundation is calling for organizations to join the Play for the Lead, their new project under Playing for Purpose focused on increasing access and participation in Sport for underserved Girls and Young Women with migrant or refugee backgrounds, with asylum seeker status, or from ethnically marginalized communities in Europe. Who should apply? The call is open to sport clubs, sport-for-good, and social organizations in Germany, Spain and France using sport or physical activity as a core tool, willing to strengthen youth participation practices and empower young women to co-design and implement inclusive sport initiatives. The play for the lead model Selected organizations will receive 3-year funding support to strengthen their youth participation practices while working in close collaboration with young women aged 18–25. The approach brings together: Organizational capacity strengthening Co-design of initiatives Two years of implementation and peer learning with other partners. The goal is to improve access to, quality of, and participation in sport and physical activity for girls and young women from migrant or refugee backgrounds, asylum seekers, and ethnically marginalized groups.
