AI/ML Engineer - McLean

Salary: $165,000 - 242,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer science or a closely related field.
• We require senior-level experience: 8 years with a bachelors degree, 7 years with a masters degree, or 6 years with a doctorate.
• We require an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
• We require U.S. citizenship and eligibility under U.S. export control rules, where applicable.
• We require a willingness to work onsite full time.
• We require strong Python skills and familiarity with common data and AI libraries.
• We require experience building AI/ML applications, including LLM-integrated solutions, RAG workflows, or comparable retrieval-based systems.
• We require experience with agent-based programming, AI frameworks, and tool-driven LLM application development.
• We require a solid grasp of core AI/ML concepts, including transformers, algorithms, LLM behavior, data preparation, and model integration patterns.
• We require experience designing, building, or integrating REST APIs for data retrieval, processing, or system-to-system communication.
• We require familiarity with production-grade development practices, including reliability, maintainability, testing, and deployment considerations.

• We develop, implement, and support AI/ML-enabled applications with emphasis on agent-based workflows, LLM integration, and retrieval-augmented generation.
• We design and maintain agent-based architectures, including orchestration logic, tool usage, memory handling, and connections to external systems.
• We build and sustain RAG pipelines, covering document ingestion, embedding creation, retrieval setup, prompt assembly, and response tuning.
• We integrate LLMs into applications using APIs, AI frameworks, and emerging protocols such as MCP.
• We develop and maintain REST APIs, especially Python-based services, to enable data access, system integration, agent workflows, and application features.
• We contribute to full-stack development of production-ready AI solutions, including backend services, user-facing elements, and enterprise deployment needs.
• We process, transform, and organize structured and unstructured data to support AI/ML workflows, model interactions, and application performance.
• We design or improve Postgres schemas and data models to strengthen data organization, query efficiency, and scalability.
• We optimize AI-enabled applications for performance, reliability, usability, and long-term maintainability in enterprise settings.
