Trans Ash performs heavy civil construction services such as large-scale earthwork, site development, clearing and grubbing, erosion controls, haul roads, storm drainage, process water ponds, spillways, concrete support, slope and shoreline stabilization, landfill construction and closure, dredging, ash pond remediation, site restoration, and plant support services. With experienced field teams, a growing fleet of heavy equipment, and a management team focused on safety, quality, and production, we are equipped to take on demanding construction and environmental projects from planning through completion. This position will be based out of the home office in Cincinnati, OH, but will include +/- 60% of overnight travel to our out-of-town construction sites. Primary Duties Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state, federal and customer environmental, health and safety regulations for multiple locations. Administer employee training programs at multiple locations. Assist in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures. Assists ESH Specialists at various locations. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations. Keeps up to date on any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Investigate reported accidents, incidents and near misses. Evaluate current best practices and then prepare reports and implement corrective actions. Develop relationships with our customers at the local and corporate level to promote and incorporate the company's safety program. Develop and implement strategies to drive company and regional/department goals and objectives. Provides clear direction and objectives to ESH Specialists. Ability to ensure safety coverage is available for all sites. Job Requirements and Qualifications Education/ Certification Bachelor’s degree in related field from four-year college or university or five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Safety Professional designation and/or OSHA 500/510 Certifications preferred. Experience Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Mass Excavation Construction business (Caterpillar type equipment) and trucking is a positive. DOT Compliance Experience Position requires knowledge of job safety analysis, job instructions training, and ability to write complete Site-Specific Safety Plans and job hazard analysis (JHA’s) without supervision. Strong written, verbal communications and training skills. Must have strong computer skills using Microsoft Windows, Outlook Email, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint experience preferred. Ability to use and navigate iPhone and iPad required. Other Information Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in all types of weather, walk, and stand for extended periods of time. Must be physically able to perform the work in hot and/ or cold weather conditions. Must be able to work on a construction job site. Must be able to walk slopes and uneven terrain. Must be able to safely traverse on uneven and rocky soil. Will require travel to sites. Must have a valid driver’s license. Be at least 18 years of age.
