This position will be located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel Program. This role may offer a competitive relocation package.What You'll Get To Do:This candidate will join the Weapon System Integration (WSI) team under Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT), working on Network Systems Integration (NSI). Under the guidance of the Sentinel Network Lead, the selected candidate will support the NSI team which works to develop program-wide networking governance and standards, develop and/or synthesize network artifacts at the system level (including cross-segment network interfaces, program network architecture, and network documentation), perform program-wide gap assessments for network development, develop handling plans for any identified issues, and provide networking subject matter expertise to areas such as Major Program Event (MPE) reviews, modeling (architecture, simulation, analysis....), and requirements. NSI team purview includes the deliverable network architecture, incremental/test configs (lab networks), & ITF/MIF/VSFB test networks.Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:Use Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis (MS&A) practices to design, test, and verify network capabilitiesDrive system-level network MS&A and test governance and tool standardizationProvide program-wide SME inputs into networking MS&A and testCoordinate with other MS&A, Test, and network developer teams (e.g. MS&A, RAM, STT, etc…)Mentor a mid-career Network Simulation & Test Analyst on networking systems MS&A practicesPerform day-to-day health checks, network capacity planning/modeling, performance analytics, reliability-centered design (RCD), and develop Mean-Time-Between-Failure (MTBF) metrics for network elementsSet up a 24×7 monitoring environment for prototype and early-production systems, create SOPs, and run the incident-response cycle during the EMD’s “Production Test” phaseParticipate in frequent working groups to support iterative developmentCreate and ensure that appropriate network documentation existsDevelop and document technical processes and procedures as neededRecommend and implement system/process enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systemInfluence network requirements and interfaces; translate program-level requirements into network-level deliverablesSupport governance adherence for waveform and lower-level OSI network management, protocols, and timingAssess the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable network infrastructure to include network design, architecture, specifications, cross-segment interfaces, and equipment selection per DoD requirementsSupport all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposalProvide specific and detailed information for hardware and software selection as well as implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirementsMaintain knowledge of current and emerging Industry and DoD trends and technologies in network frameworks, management, and analytics while ensuring proper utilization where applicableEstablish and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives while adhering to established policiesExhibit good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customersBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 10 years of experience with Master's degree, 8 years of experience with PhDMust be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business needModeling, Simulation, and Analysis experience of Aerospace Vehicles through either professional work experience or education performing physics based simulation and analysis3+ years of experience with network capacity planning or modeling, reliability-centered design (RCD), and/or developing Mean-Time Between Failure (MTBF) metrics for network elements3+ years of experience implementing and executing a monitoring environment for prototype or early-production network systems, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and/or running incident response during EMD's \"production test\" phaseExperience with implementing statistical theory to analysis problems and with using analysis tools such as MATLAB4+ years of experience with scripting (e.g. Python/PowerShell)Familiarity with NOC tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, NetMRI), incident responseProficiency with telemetry (SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow)Hardline &/or RF communications skillsets6+ years of experience with designing, architecting, simulating, or deploying complex network infrastructures2+ years of experience implementing and using model-based systems engineering tools, practices, and methods (including using SysML or UML in Cameo or Rhapsody)4+ years of experience working with requirements including authoring, allocating, tracing, interpreting, etc...3+ years of strong program execution skills; The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.#SentinelsystemsPrimary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
