Advanced Practice Nurse (Practitioner/Pediatrics)

Overview Position is located at Defense Health Network Pacific Rim, Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Advanced Practice Nurse (Practioner/Pediatrics) Salary Range Benefits Responsibilities As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner you will: Provide advanced, comprehensive, and preventative healthcare services to pediatric and adolescent patients. Perform independent and collaborative medical management, including patient assessment, diagnosis, and creating therapeutic care plans. Perform medical procedures, prescribe medications, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure effective patient care. Serve as consultant, instructor, and subject matter expert, participating in staff development, research, and peer reviews. Participate in committees and meetings to contribute to decision-making and process improvement. Perform forensic examinations after completing mandatory, government-provided training (if required). Qualifications Who may apply: US Citizens. Basic Requirement For Advanced Practice Nurse (Family Practice/Pediatrics): Degree: A graduate or higher level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Practice. Foreign Degree: A degree from a foreign nursing school plus official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory; and passed National Council Licensure Examination. Exemption: Current federal employee in 0610 occupational series, employed since September 27, 2017, with documentation. Requirements: Professional Nursing Experience: At least one full year of experience performing pediatric physical examinations and diagnosing diseases or prescribing medication.
