One day they had a great idea; The Washington, D.C. area should have a military retirement community. They formed the Air Force Retired Officers Community (AFROC) and began a ten-year journey to make their dream a reality. The original Board of Directors visited communities across the country to determine what would constitute the ideal retirement community. They secured financing, the perfect site, and commissioned the design and construction.
