HR Recruiter Generalist (ID# 5325) (New York)

Our client, a not for profit in Manhattan is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist with strong high-volume recruiting experience to support day-to-day human resources operations and manage full-cycle recruitment efforts. This role is responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates while supporting employee relations, HR administration, compliance, and other human resources initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple open positions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

Manage full-cycle recruitment for a high volume of open positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers.

Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and hiring priorities.

Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies using job boards, social media, employee referrals, networking, and other recruitment channels.

Conduct initial phone screens and interviews to assess candidate qualifications, experience, and overall fit.

Coordinate interview schedules, communicate with candidates, and maintain consistent follow-up throughout the hiring process.

Manage candidate pipelines and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to ensure accurate records and timely recruitment activity.

Support background checks, reference checks, employment verifications, and pre-employment screenings.

Coordinate new-hire onboarding, including offer letters, employment documentation, orientation, and new employee paperwork.

Human Resources Administration

Assist with maintaining employee records, personnel files, and HR databases in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle administration.

Assist with employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and employee inquiries.

Ensure employment documentation and HR processes comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, or recruiting.

Demonstrated experience managing high-volume recruitment across multiple positions simultaneously.

Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, and online recruiting tools.

Strong knowledge of recruiting practices, onboarding procedures, and general HR administration.

Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet hiring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential employee and candidate information.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
