Job Description

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join their team at Allegheny General Hospital. This position is casual, with a shift of 24 hours every two weeks, rotating weekends and holidays per policy. This role is not eligible for time off or medical benefits and is unionized.

The unit consists of highly trained expert RNs who cover all areas of AGH based on their specialty and clinical expertise. The variety in patient types and acuity prepares nurses to care for critically ill patients. Responsibilities include mentoring and precepting nurses.

Job Summary: Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process and floats to multiple areas within an assigned team based on skill level.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.

Qualifications:

• 3 years acute care nursing experience required in ICU.
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
