What you are doing as the Director, Metals Procurement: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for direct materials and metals to meet business objectives. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure the best cost, quality, and delivery performance. Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve optimal terms and conditions for the company. Team and Supplier dashboards focused on performance and implement improvement plans as necessary. Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects to achieve budgetary targets. Analyze market trends and conduct cost benchmarking to identify opportunities for savings. Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve supply chain performance. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors with contingency planning in case of disruptions. What you need as the Director, Metals Procurement: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, with a focus on direct materials and metals. Proven track record of successfully leading global sourcing initiatives and driving cost savings. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Experience in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation. Knowledge of market trends, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to direct materials and metals. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Travel up to 40% of the time. Preferred Skills: Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP). Experience with ERP systems and procurement software. Knowledge of sustainability practices and initiatives in sourcing and procurement. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
