About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Design for a transformative new transit project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design development, design compliance, and system-wide governance of the project, which aims to provide a direct rail link between currently underserved neighborhoods. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the project's design, from incorporating the latest technology and best practices to ensuring safe, cost-effective, and timely construction. The Vice President of Design will also be involved in the procurement of third-party consultants and contractors, the environmental review process, project financing activities, and community engagement. Candidates for the Vice President of Design position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 16 years of related experience, with at least 10 years in a management or supervisory role. A Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is preferred. The role requires expertise in design standards development, safety certification, and regulatory compliance management, as well as experience with systems integration and interface management. The ideal candidate will have the ability to evaluate design decisions from a system-wide, lifecycle, and public-interest perspective, and demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment. Experience with alternative delivery methods is also preferred.
