Court Case Manager 2 (41-2034) Kotzebue Jury Clerk

Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for an advance step placement. Job Overview The Court Case Manager 2 will serve as the in-court clerk for minor offense and grand jury proceedings; prepare the courtroom for hearings, test recording equipment, and review case files for prior or pending actions. They will announce the opening and closing of court proceedings, mark and maintain exhibits and lists, record court proceedings, and prepare an accurate summary. Jury clerk duties include preparing and distributing jury schedules, juror notices, routing requests for excusal and deferral to the judicial officer, and documenting juror attendance. Additional responsibilities include managing minor offense cases using CourtView/OnBase to open, calendar, and close cases, performing records research and requests, handling mail at the post office once a day, responsible for vital statistics duties, assisting the public with marriage license applications, preparing marriage licenses for signature, providing customer service at the front counter and over the phone, accepting incoming filings, collecting money and producing receipts for fines, fees, bail, etc. Work Hours Full-time court employees work 37.5 hours per week. Working Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. Minimum Qualifications High school graduation or GED certificate plus one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer. High school graduation or GED certificate plus completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.
