Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Assistant Nurse Manager to lead and support our telemetry unit within a well-established acute care hospital serving the Pacific Northwest region. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality nursing care while fostering a positive work environment and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled work environment.
• Engage with patients and families to uphold service excellence and address concerns promptly.
• Communicate professionally and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Participate in nursing policy development and promote evidence-based practices.
• Ensure unit accountability for quality, operational, financial, and regulatory goals.
• Advocate for patients and coordinate care across healthcare disciplines.
• Collaborate with departments to optimize workflow and patient throughput.
• Assist in recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing staff.
• Manage staffing schedules and assignments based on competencies and patient needs.
• Lead quality improvement projects and participate in committees.
• Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct appraisals.
• Contribute to budget development and monitor productivity standards.
• Promote a healthy work environment minimizing occupational illness and injury.
• Demonstrate accountability for personal professional growth.
• Perform administrative supervisory duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of RN experience, including at least two years in acute care.
• At least one year of recent charge nurse or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of nursing scope of practice and individualized care planning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient in assessing nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and families.
• Comfortable with computer use and learning new software.
• Capable of providing direct patient care.

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with seven years of RN experience considered.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• National certification in specialty area preferred.
• Additional certifications depending on unit assignment, such as ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, ONS chemotherapy & biotherapy provider, and others as applicable.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates must pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check prior to employment.
