Furniture Installer

The Furniture Installer is responsible for the delivery, assembly, and installation of office furniture, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications. This role requires a strong knowledge of furniture systems, installation drawings, and job-site best practices. The Furniture Installer partners with project managers, designers, purchasing, customers, and fellow installers to deliver high-quality customer experience. The ideal candidate can work independently or as part of a team, effectively communicate with stakeholders, troubleshoot installation challenges, and accurately document project completion.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Stakeholder Support

Maintain positive and professional relationships with customers and internal teams.

Deliver exceptional customer service and always remain professional.

Communicate installation issues, site conditions, damages, shortages, or customer requests to the appropriate internal teams.

Participate in project closeout activities.

Document installation progress, completion, and punch-list items within the appropriate system.

Technical & Product Expertise

Demonstrate strong knowledge of furniture systems, products, and installation methods.

Read and interpret installation blueprints, floor plans, workstation layouts, dimensions, and specifications.

Understand panel systems, workstation configurations, electrical components, file storage systems, and furniture layouts.

Install and assemble a variety of furniture products, including case goods, panel systems, seating, storage, accessories, and workstation components.

Troubleshoot and resolve basic furniture system and power-related issues.

Perform quality checks to ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications and company standards.

Installation Execution & Operations

Review daily project schedules and installation requirements.

Complete deliveries, unloading, staging, assembly, and installation of furniture according to project specifications.

Sort and stage materials in the appropriate locations at customer sites.

Ensure furniture, tools, and equipment are available and ready for scheduled installations.

Document installations, deliveries, damages, and punch-list items using CORE, MOSS, or other required systems.

Take photos to document completed work, site conditions, or damaged materials.

Work collaboratively with team members and other trades on job sites.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the installation process.

Clean and organize company vehicles daily, including removal of trash, packaging materials, extra parts, and damaged items.

Assist with loading and securing materials for future installations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred

2+ years of office furniture installation experience or related industry experience

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and installation drawings

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Effective problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing job-site conditions

Ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines

Valid driver's licenses and acceptable driving record

Ability to safely lift, carry, move, and assemble furniture and equipment
