ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Collects blood samples ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples. * Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.

• Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
• Collection of blood from surrounding nursing facilities.
• Follows hospital policies and procedures for transporting/delivering samples

from offices to the laboratory.

• Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
• Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
• Maintains needed equipment and supplies.
• Orients and mentors new staff members and students.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Along with patient collection and obtaining specimens for processing, you’ll

pack, ship and prepare specimens to be sent to references labs. * Provide additional help in other areas of the laboratory including answering phones and general customer service * Ability to float to Hospital, Redlands or Fruita office draw station for coverage as needed. * Ability to perform work that requires occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting, Frequent standing, walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion, lifting up to 50 pounds. * Competently operate Laboratory Information System (LIS) EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE:

1. Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Licenses No Professional License required.
3. Certifications Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited agency (ex.

ASCP) preferred. 4. Experience 1 year related experience required. Experienced with pediatric blood collection required. Completion of and approved phlebotomy training course (or equivalent) Wage starts at $19.00 and goes up based on experience Position open until filled Immunizations required for employment FHW offers a full benefits package including:
