We are seeking an experienced hematology/oncology physician (hematology oncologist) for a locum tenens opportunity in Martinsville, VA. • Location: Martinsville, VA 24112 (Martinsville, Virginia - near Greensboro and Raleigh-Durham)
• Assignment Length: August 3, 2026 - July 31, 2027 (52 weeks)
• Shifts: 4 shifts per week, 8-10 hours per day (pending patient volumes)
• Patient Volume: 12-15 patients per shift (outpatient oncology/cancer care)
• Call: Beeper only for established patients; very light (2-5 phone calls per week)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,150 - $7,280
• Lodging: Apartment available for the duration of the assignment
• Nearest Airports: GSO (Greensboro), RDU (Raleigh-Durham) - driving distance preferred

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology (minimum board certification eligible)
• Active and unrestricted physician license
• Completed fellowship in Hematology/Oncology (minimum 3 years)
• Current certifications: ABLS, ACLS, BLS
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in hematology/oncology practice
• Strong communication, patient-focused care, and teamwork skills

• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care to a diverse outpatient population
• Manage 12-15 patient encounters per shift in an outpatient oncology center
• Participate in light on-call duties for established patients (phone only)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including electronic medical records (EMR)
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered clinical environment focused on quality cancer care
