A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an Automation/Controls Site & IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technology and automation support across two nearby manufacturing facilities.

This role is ideal for someone with a blend of IT, OT, automation, controls, networking, and manufacturing technology experience who enjoys working directly with plant operations and solving problems at the site level.

\n

\n

The position will support day-to-day IT and automation issues while also contributing to networking, cybersecurity, systems administration, manufacturing technology, and continuous improvement initiatives.

\n

What You'll Do

\n

\n
• Provide hands-on IT, OT, and automation support within the manufacturing environment.
\n
• Troubleshoot technical issues involving computers, networks, plant-floor systems, automation equipment, and related technologies.
\n
• Respond to support tickets and work directly with end users and production personnel to resolve issues.
\n
• Install, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals, and other technology.
\n
• Support automation and process-control systems in partnership with plant and enterprise technical teams.
\n
• Assist with networking equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
\n
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to identify and address site-specific IT/OT security risks.
\n
• Identify root causes of recurring technical and automation problems and implement sustainable solutions.
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of systems, connectivity, hardware, software, and plant-floor technology.
\n
• Support user training and develop site-specific technical resources.
\n
• Monitor recurring incidents and identify opportunities for technology and process improvements.
\n
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
\n
• Participate in technology, automation, infrastructure, and system integration projects.
\n
• Work with production and business leaders to identify opportunities where technology and automation can improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.

• Develop project documentation, requirements, status reports, proposals, and presentations.
\n
• Collaborate with enterprise IT, OT, automation, infrastructure, networking, security, and manufacturing teams.
\n

What We're Looking For

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Automation, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience .
\n
• Experience supporting IT and/or automation systems within a manufacturing environment .
\n
• Strong understanding of computer hardware, Microsoft operating systems, networking, and system administration.
\n
• Experience with OT, industrial automation, process control, or plant-floor technology .
\n
• Understanding of industrial networking and connectivity.
\n
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
\n
• Experience supporting end users and production teams.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.
\n
• Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
\n
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights, weekends, or emergency call-ins.

Work Environment

\n

\n
• Full-time, on-site position supporting two nearby manufacturing facilities.
\n
• Regular travel between the facilities based on projects and operational needs.
\n
• Approximately 40 hours per week with occasional after-hours or emergency support for a 24/7 production environment.
\n
• Occasional travel may be required for software implementations, system integration, or other technology projects.
\n
• Must be able to lift approximately 40 lbs. and work with computers, peripherals, tools, and other technology equipment.
\n
