Construction Inspector

Chao & Associates is a civil and structural engineering firm seeking a full-time Structural / Civil Construction Inspector to support our inspection, construction administration, and structural evaluation services. This position is based out of our office and includes regular field work at project sites. This is an entry-level opportunity. Prior experience in inspections, construction administration, or structural evaluations is not required. We provide hands-on training and mentorship from licensed engineers and senior staff. This role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining practical experience in structural and civil engineering projects. Primary Responsibilities Perform field inspections on structural and civil projects under the supervision of licensed engineers Document site conditions, construction progress, and compliance with plans and specifications Assist with construction administration services, including reviewing submittals, RFIs, and contractor documentation Support structural condition assessments and evaluations of existing buildings and infrastructure Prepare written reports, field notes, and photographic documentation Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements Maintain organized project files and documentation Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred No prior inspection or structural evaluation experience required - training provided Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (preferred but not required) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation #J-18808-Ljbffr
