Description

• Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using established assessment tools and observational methods.
• Create tailored treatment plans that cater to immediate and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication abilities, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing mechanics.
• Engage in teamwork with physical therapists, occupational therapy professionals, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate integrated care approaches.
• Provide education to patients and families to assist progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Facilitate inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring a continuous care experience throughout the recovery process.
• Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to state, federal, and institutional standards.
• Enhance your abilities through ongoing educational opportunities and collaboration with peers in the field.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a reputable institution.
• Completion of a mentored Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of the start of employment.
