About the role 15 Lightyears is hiring an Energy Technician to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, values independence, and wants to make a positive impact in energy efficiency and sustainability. Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable using mobile technology. On the job learning will be provided. Job Type: Full-Time Location: 15 lightyears corporate office located in Lake Mary, FL. Jobs are performed in Sarasota (and surrounding areas). Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Potential for overtime is available. Specific testing includes: Blower door testing, Duct blaster testing, Airflow measurements. Ensure accurate reporting of findings and testing data. Use company software and mobile tools to enter, review, and submit inspection results. Manage day-to-day assignments effectively with minimal supervision. Travel to and from job sites in a company vehicle (gas and time covered). Maintain inventory and cleanliness of company vehicle assigned. Ensure testing equipment is functioning properly; following operating instructions and requesting repairs as needed. Follow safety protocols and comply with all legal regulations and industry standards. Communicate professionally and respectfully with: Clients and Site Contacts, Corporate Headquarters & Management, Scheduling Team, and Field Staff. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work independently and self-manage time and jobs tasks effectively throughout the workday. Respectful and professional when interacting with clients, coworkers, and job site teams. Commitment to performing high quality work. Building and residential construction knowledge is preferred. Strong time management, responsible, dependable, and attention to detail. Comfortable using smartphones, apps, and tablets. Previous experience or training in building trades such as roofing, air conditioning, plumbing, construction, electrical is a plus. Ability to speak and read English clearly and fluently. Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
