Employment Type Full time Shift Day Shift. Three 12-hour shifts per week from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm EST, scheduled on Tuesdays, Fridays, and a third day of your choice. Position Purpose In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Operating Room Assistant, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care tasks in an environment sensitive to each patient’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Functions within the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines. What You Will Do Assist with placing the patient in the designated surgical position (e.g., supine, prone, lateral, lithotomy). Monitor positioning and traction devices as appropriate. Verify integrity of sterile packaging and sterilization indicators. Open sterile supplies and instruments using aseptic technique. Assist with room turnover. Adhere to aseptic technique principles. Maintain OR supply inventory and linen. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Previous healthcare experience preferred. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Math computation skills. BLS healthcare provider training required.
