Job Title Maintenance Lead Job Overview The primary function of the Maintenance Lead is to oversee all associates in the assigned group, ensuring work is completed in a timely fashion. The role is responsible for assigning tasks to the team, reporting problems to management, and fostering a positive environment within the department. Responsibilities Assist mechanics/technicians in repairs of equipment and facilities throughout the property. Repair and maintain stock pickers, pallet wrappers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and forklift batteries. Order parts for all equipment and other required repairs. Perform inspections and tests of completed repairs to ensure quality. Complete detailed preventive maintenance inspections and associated paperwork. Maintain brakes, wheels/tires, air, and hydraulic systems. Use electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, volt‑amp testers, and load testers. Perform all duties in a safe manner. Maintain a professional demeanor and a neat, orderly working area. Train new associates. Enforce safety rules. Perform all other duties as assigned. Key Skills and Competencies Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to comprehend and convey detailed instructions. General building maintenance skills including carpentry, painting, and electrical repairs. Proficiency with basic hand tools such as saws and drills. Knowledge of forklift or other industrial equipment repair and operation. Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities. Basic computer skills for managing work orders, email, and related tasks. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent experience in a warehouse or distribution setting. Minimum one year of building maintenance experience. Electrical and hydraulic maintenance experience. Welding knowledge preferred. Previous leadership or management experience preferred. Detail oriented and accurate. Must be at least 18 years old. Physical Demands Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, and handle items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance. Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center. Move objects up to 250 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations. Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions; standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90%; desk or phone work: 5%.
