About the Opportunity

Lard Oil Company, an established Louisiana-based convenience retail and fuel distribution company, is seeking motivated, results-driven Store Managers to lead our company-operated convenience stores.

We are looking for leaders who understand that exceptional customer service, a strong team culture, and operational excellence are the foundation of a successful retail business.

Our locations include traditional convenience stores, fuel operations, neighborhood market concepts, and stores featuring branded and proprietary food service programs.

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring experience in convenience retail, grocery or specialty markets, quick-service restaurants (QSR), or prepared food operations.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations & Financial Performance

* Lead all aspects of daily convenience store operations, including fuel, merchandise, and integrated food service programs.

* Drive sales growth, gross profit, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, and controllable profitability.

* Maintain high standards for store cleanliness, product availability, merchandising, and overall appearance.

* Execute company promotions, merchandising programs, operating procedures, and safety standards.

* Monitor store financial and operational results, identify opportunities, and implement corrective actions.

People Leadership & Customer Service Culture

* Build and sustain a positive, customer-first culture where hospitality, teamwork, accountability, and service excellence are everyday expectations.

* Recruit, train, coach, and develop employees while building a strong, engaged, and performance-driven team.

* Lead by example through active engagement with customers and employees.

* Establish clear expectations for friendly, efficient, and consistent customer experiences.

* Create an environment where employees take pride in their store, their work, and the customers they serve.

Food Service & Market Excellence

* Ensure consistent execution of food service programs, including food quality, freshness, presentation, safety, and customer experience.

* Develop a culture of food service excellence focused on hospitality, speed of service, product availability, and operational consistency.

* Manage food costs, labor, waste, inventory, and profitability.

* Maintain strong merchandising and presentation standards for fresh foods, grab-and-go products, and specialty market offerings.

* Ensure food service and retail teams work together to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications

Required

* Proven leadership experience in convenience retail, grocery, specialty market, restaurant, QSR, or comparable retail operations.

* Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and hold teams accountable.

* Strong commitment to customer service excellence and building a positive workplace culture.

* Experience managing sales, labor, inventory, operating expenses, and financial performance.

* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

* Willingness to lead from the sales floor and remain actively engaged in daily operations.

Highly Preferred

* Convenience store and fuel retail management experience.

* Experience in prepared foods, QSR, grocery deli, fresh food, or specialty market operations.

* Demonstrated success improving customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational standards.

* Experience building strong service cultures and developing future leaders.

* Working knowledge of food safety, food cost controls, labor productivity, and inventory management.
