Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored treatment plans that align with their individual requirements, personal goals, and therapeutic preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to achieve effective results.
  • Educate and support clients and their families regarding mood disorders, available treatment options, and essential self-care strategies.
  • Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to coordinate integrated care for clients.
  • Stay informed about the latest research on mood disorders to continually improve your treatment approaches.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development initiatives.
  • Advocate for clients’ mental health needs, working to reduce stigma and promote accessibility to care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our focus is on helping individuals overcoming various mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. We also work with vulnerable populations such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse, providing much-needed support and resources at critical times in their lives.

Qualifications

  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build trusting relationships with clients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude toward clients' experiences and challenges are essential.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively handle a diverse caseload and administrative tasks.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with mood disorders and a proven track record of successful therapeutic interventions.
  • Familiarity with tools and methodologies such as CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, a retirement plan, and health insurance.
